■トロントのアンダーグラウンドシーンにて異彩を放つパーティーシリーズ／レーベル『Hypnotic Mindscapes』のファウンダー”Cosmic JD”が初来日！

カナダはトロントを拠点に2011年より活動を続けているパーティーシリーズ／レーベル『Hypnotic Mindscapes』。これまでにDJ Masda、Evan Baggs、Jane Fitz、Nicola Cruzらをはじめとする数々の著名アーティストをトロントへ招致し、レーベルとしても先日5枚目となるリリース「Kamahele / 1998-2000 Compendium」のリイシューを発表するなど、着実にその存在感を示している。
今回初来日を果たすのは、Hypnotic Mindscapesのファウンダーであり、DJ / Producerとしても活躍しているCosmic JD。南米をルーツに持ちながら、卓越したセンスでDJと作曲活動の両極において近年北米のみならずヨーロッパへも活動範囲を拡大させており、自身のレーベル以外にも<Seekers>や<Subsequent>、<MELCURE>など良質なレーベルからリリースを重ねている注目のアーティストである。 そんなCosmic JDが、5/24(土)に青山Nummで行われるパーティーへの出演に先駆けて、DOMMUNEで初のライブストリーミングを行う！

●Cosmic JD（Hypnotic Mindscapes, Seekers）

コロンビア生まれで現在はトロントを拠点に活動するDJ / ProducerのCosmic JD。トロントのみならず各所でアンダーグラウンドハウス／テクノシーンのキーマンとして高い評価を得ている。 ファウンダーであるコレクティヴ「Hypnotic Mindcapes」として、近未来的なハウスやユニークなテクノを軸に、過去にトロントでの出演経験のないアーティストの招致を中心にしながらパーティーを主催している。 テクノやエレクトロ、ハウスを独自の感性でブレンドする型にはまらないスタイルは、彼のvinyl onlyのDJ setでも、hardware中心のライブセットでも共通して高い評価を得ており、ベルリンはHoppetosseやCDV、ニューヨークのPublic Records、バルセロナのRed 58、Mutek Montrealなどでプレイした実績を持つ。 プロデューサーとしても、自身のHypnotic Mindscapesレーベルからのリリースのみならず、SeekersやSubsequent、MELCUREなど数々の良質なレーベルからのリリースで注目を集めている。

Juan D. Casas a.k.a Cosmic JD is a Colombian-born Producer and DJ based in Toronto, Canada. Highly regarded as a key player in the underground house and techno community both in the city and abroad. As the founder of Toronto’s Hypnotic Mindscapes collective, JD and his crew organize intimate parties curated with future house and oddball techno, featuring groundbreaking international bookings, often performing for the first time in Toronto or Canada. With a unique blend of styles within the spectrum of techno, electro, house and beyond – JD & The Hypnotic Mindscapes crew have become a Toronto staple when it comes to all things unconventional and sensitive. Whether playing only vinyl or an all-hardware live set, a key focus on detail to selection and performance has made him a regular in clubs and festivals such as the Seekers parties around Europe, Hoppetosse and CDV in Berlin, Public Records NYC, Red58 in Barcelona, Meadows in the Mountains, Mutek Montreal and yearly appearances in Toronto and South America. On the production end, JD has received quick notoriety with his records on Seekers, Hypnotic Mindscapes, Varme and others. A talent behind the decks, in the studio, and behind the scenes, JD’s drive, skills and continued commitment to the underground make him an artist to keep watch on.

●Zenta（Hypnotic Mindscapes in Tokyo）

東京都出身。2012年よりカナダ、トロントにて8年間DJ／プロデューサーとしての活動を経て、2020年に東京へ帰還。トロントではレーベル兼パーティーHypnotic Mindcapes主宰の一人として数々の著名アーティスト／DJを招致。 2023年よりHypnotic Mindscapes in Tokyoとして渋谷Mitsukiや青山Nummにて不定期でパーティーを主宰する傍ら、2024年9月には古巣カナダへの帰還ツアーとしてモントリオール、トロントに加え、ニューヨークの名門パーティーResoluteにも出演する北米ツアーを成功させている。 プロデューサーとしても、自身のHypnotic Mindscapesからのリリースに加え、Cosmic JDとの連名でVarme、Nuances de Nuit、Mode of Expressionといったレーベルからリリースした実績を持つ。 現在はディスクユニオンにおいて海外向けディストリビューターとしても勤務している。

Born and raised in Tokyo, Japan. He started his DJ career in Tokyo in 2009, he has played at clubs such as WOMB, AIR, and Contact. After spending 8 years as a DJ/producer in Toronto, Canada since 2012, he returned to Tokyo in 2020. In Toronto, as a member of "Hypnotic Mindscapes", a label and promoter, he helped to organize one of the best underground events in Toronto by bringing many prominent artists and DJs to the city. Since 2023, he has been hosting parties at Mitsuki and Numm in Shibuya as "Hypnotic Mindscapes in Tokyo" on an irregular basis, as well as a regular monthly event "Paranormal" at Red Bar. As a producer, he has released some split EPs with his label mate Cosmic JD, from labels such as "Varme", "Nuances de Nuit", "Mode of Expression", as well as their very own "Hypnotic Mindscapes". Currently working as a worldwide record distributor at diskunion.
